Each side has 12 players: six qualify automatically on points earned over the previous two seasons and six are captain’s picks announced in the weeks before the match. The United States lead the all-time series and have won every edition since 1998, when the International team won at Royal Melbourne; the 2003 match in South Africa was tied. Thirty points are available across the four days and 15.5 wins the cup.
