Women’s Ski Jumping Normal Hill Final 2026

Date 7 February 2026Saturday
Status Scheduled

Anna Odine Strøm of Norway won the women’s ski jumping individual normal hill at the 2026 Winter Olympics, taking gold at the Predazzo Ski Jumping Stadium on Saturday 7 February 2026. Strøm’s total of 267.3 points saw off Slovenian favourite Nika Prevc (silver, 266.2) and Japan’s Nozomi Maruyama (bronze, 261.8) in a tense two-jump contest decided by barely a point.

What is the Women’s Normal Hill event?

The individual normal hill is the smaller of the two Olympic ski jumping hills, with a construction point (K-point) of around 95 metres and a hill size of roughly 106 metres. Athletes take two jumps, and the scores from both are combined. Each jump is graded on distance plus style marks from five judges, with deductions or bonuses for wind and gate changes. Women have contested the event at every Winter Olympics since Sochi 2014.

When did the event take place?

The competition was held on the evening of Saturday 7 February 2026 under floodlights. Qualification took place earlier in the day, with the two-round final contested from around 19:00 local time (CET).

Where was it held?

The Predazzo Ski Jumping Stadium in the Val di Fiemme hosted all ski jumping events at Milano Cortina 2026. The Trampolino dal Ben venue was upgraded and modernised for the Games, having previously hosted the 2013 Nordic World Ski Championships and regular FIS World Cup events. It comprises an HS106 normal hill and an HS140 large hill, set in the Dolomites of the Trentino region.

Results

Strøm delivered two composed jumps to total 267.3 points and claim Norway’s first women’s Olympic ski jumping gold. Nika Prevc, the World Cup leader, led briefly after round one but could not match her rival in the final jump, settling for silver at 266.2. Maruyama took bronze with 261.8, her second Olympic medal after Beijing 2022. Austria’s Eva Pinkelnig was a close fourth.

Background and form going in

Prevc had been the runaway favourite after a dominant World Cup winter and was attempting to add Olympic gold to the family ski jumping legacy built by her brothers Peter and Domen. Strøm, 27, was seen as a podium threat but not a clear gold pick. Japan’s Yuki Ito, the 2022 champion, failed to recover from a difficult first round and finished outside the medals.

History and records

Norway had won only a handful of Olympic ski jumping medals in the women’s event before Milano Cortina, making Strøm’s win a significant moment for Norwegian nordic sport. Her victory came 12 years after women’s ski jumping was first included in the Olympic programme in Sochi. It was also the first time Norway had won gold in the women’s individual normal hill.
